I had an unexpected road trip this weekend and photography just wasn’t possible. It’s already dusk so I grabbed the light stand and umbrella and shot the first interesting thing I came upon in the backyard.  

The shot – lightstand with umbrella and speedlight camera left at 1/8 power ~ f/5.6 ~ 1/125 sec ~ 42mm ~ iso 400.  Minor post processing –crop square, add the matte, vignette , and some edge blur to better define the subject.

Trolling around the house looking for something to shoot.  Found this in my pocket so I dug out the extension tubes for a macro shot.  This turned out to be harder to shoot than expected because of the reflective surface.   I’m not totally pleased with the outcome but I’m outta ideas, short of mucking around in Photoshop.  These were the 2 best… Yes, I’m a card-carrying member (25+ years) and responsible owner of multiple rifles, shotguns, and handguns.
