I find myself inspired by the work of others. This is a commitment to myself to improve my photographic skills by posting a photograph a day. 2009 was my 365 year but I find this the perfect motivator to pick up my camera on a daily basis. I continue my quest of making better photographs and focus my efforts on off camera flash.

Daisy Belle – RIP 199/365
We will miss you, and we will not be the same without you. You’ve been such an integral part of our lives and our family and you’re loved so deeply by all of us. For 13 years you gave us unconditional love, joy, companionship, and laughter. You asked for little in return. You loved mommy, bagels, and flip-chips more than anything else. You will always be our “puppy.”

Goose 194/365
I took a 20 mile bike ride today and stopped at Mill Pond Preserve for a few pictures. I was panning around and this one was looking right at me, so I took her picture.

NYC Protest 189/365
I work very close to the UN and the Israeli Mission. Both of which are frequent targets of protests. Due to the proximity of my work and these two high profile facilities my employer receives advanced notice of demonstrations and informs the employees. Today there were ~2000 Orthodox Jews peacefully protesting the Israeli Mission over treatment they receive by Israeli Police.

Renewal 188/365
It used to be the Crystal Palace catering and banquet hall. To my knowledge it didn’t do much business and sat vacant for a number of years. I have no idea what it will become but I’m hoping the neighborhood benefits. I probably should have taken this a few days ago when there was a huge pile of rubble. Shot with a Sigma 12-24mm at f/5.6 - 1/250 sec – 12mm – iso 200 using the live-view feature while reaching over the fence.
